So this is a thing that came out of somewhere

Imagine my surprise today when I started to see people like Felicia Day tweeting about this music video and soon I saw a lot of other people doing the same. What can I say, it's catchy, makes no sense and is going to a very popular 15 minutes for this group.

Robocop remake trailer is out!

The trailer for the remake of Robocop has hit the internet today and in my opinion it looks good. It seems as if the focus is going to be on regaining his human side more than they did in the original. We all know it is not going to be as good as the first one, but there is nothing wrong with wanting to remake it and giving it another perspective. I am looking forward to this now.

Robocop is filled with a ton of well known names such as Michael Keaton, Sam Jackson, Gary OIdman, Jay Baruchel and Jackie Earle Haley.

Bringing this back because, why not?

Thinking of giving the blogging thing about things that interest me back just for the fun of it, if you are reading this thank you.

Shameless - Dial S For Sex: A Review

The end of 2011 brought with a special treat to glam rock fans, super group Shameless released what is being called the 15 song EP called Dial S for Sex.

Originally formed in April of 1989 by bass player Alexx "Skunk" Michael, Shameless features many different and talented artists from the hard rock scene of the 80's and early 90's.  Musicians from Kiss, Tuff, Pretty Boy Floyd, Big Bang Babies, Stryper, L.A. Guns, Warrant and Guns and Roses have all contributed to Shameless.

The new CD comes packed with 15 tracks which are as follows:

1.  Innocence is No Excuse - Stevie Rachelle of Tuff sings on this song about breaking up.

2.  Hot & Cold - Made famous by Katy Perry, this song gets the Shameless cover treatment with the amazing vocals of Stevie Summers from Pretty Boy Floyd

3.  Summertime Goodbye - Originally recorded by Tuff, Stevie Rachelle rerecords this one with Shameless regulars Alexx Micheal, B.C. Kerri Kelli and lead guitar work from W.A.S.P.'s Chris Holmes.

4.  Live 4 Today - Sung by Stevie Rachelle this fun song is about moving on and forgetting the things that have hurt you in the past.

5.  Always on My Mind - Originally sung by Brenda Lee, and then covered by such artists as Elvis Presley, Willie Nelson and the Pet Shop Boys.  Shameless does the rock take with it with Stevie Summers on vocals.

The next six songs are new recordings of songs from "Splashed" the third album that Shameless released.

6.  Love The Way (You Make Me Sick)

7.  Don't Hesitate

8.  U & I

9.  Operator

10.  Toy Human

11.  Goodbye 2 U

The CD finishes off with some special touches.

12.  Far Away - Found in the Shameless vaults this Pretty Boy Floyd song was never released in this format.  This is a special version with B.C. on guitar, Stevie Summers on vocals and the late Jani Lane on backup vocals.

13.  Hot & Cold - This time with vocals by Lauren Breen

14.  Summertime (reprise) - Slightly different guitar work

15.  Happy Birthday To You - The birthday song clocking in at 24 seconds.

This CD would definitely enhance any glam rock lovers collection.  The music, vocal style and lyrics hearken back to the sounds of the late 80's early 90's.  While this came out at the very end of 2011, I am going to make this really a 2012 release and state that the bar has been set.  Any other CD that comes out this year will have to beat the love I currently have for this one.

A solid 5 out of 5 cans of Aqua Net.

2011: What went down?

Today being the 1st day of 2012, I look back to some pretty awesome things that happened in 2011.  Here are my top 5 favorite things from 2011.
Yep, it's one more list for you to read through.

5.  Captain America and Thor: While there were some comic book movies I had complete disdain for (Looking at you Green Lantern) These two from Marvel had me completely. True to the source and powerful writing made them great comic book movies for not just the comic fans but for non comic fans as well.

4.  Wrestling:  2011 brought my interest back into wrestling in a big way.  Starting early with The Rock coming on to Raw to announce that he will be at Wrestlemania and giving one of the greatest mike work segments in the history of Raw, that is until June 27th, when Chicago native CM Punk came out and broke the 4th wall by giving a speech that changed the tone of the WWE for the rest of the year.  Sure there are a lot of things that they still need to improve on, such as a tag team division and ending the race card gimmicks, but they are on the right track.

3.  Music: New Cd's from Alice Cooper, Megadeth, Reckless Love and Avril Lavigne made this year sound fantastic.

2.  Aquaman:  While there are quite a few things about the new DC Comics Universe that I do not like, the shining star by far is Aquaman.  Writer Geoff Johns has created an Aquaman that is more in a fight to make sure people know he can do more then talk to fish.  Truly an entertaining read.

1.  Netflix: Sure they had their fair share of problems in 2011, and I was one of the major complainers of their decision to charge for both DVD and Streaming. I may have downgraded my service to streaming only, but look at what Netflix put on streaming. Every season of Power Rangers, Marvel Comics cartoon series and all of Star Trek. For 8 bucks a month, that is quite a bargain.

Thanks for reading and look for more blogs from me at least once a week, time permitting.

Coming Soon

I will be doing a weekly blog starting in the 1st week of January that will highlight things that I have seen or done or even both for the week.

I know I still have my other blog undone and someday I hope to get back to finishing my Marvel Comics Star Wars mini recaps/reviews as well as the Godzilla movies, but this blog will be more of short bursts.

Stay tuned for many plugs on my facebook as well as on twitter once I get this ball rolling.  You have been warned.
